If you have a light gray square around your logo in quickbooks for invoices, sales receipts, whatever, you’ll need to edit the image in a program like photoshop and make a small change. You need to be sure to change the image “Mode” (in photoshop) to “indexed color” and choose the option -> “Forced: Black and White”. You can do this with any image type. GIF images by default change it to indexed mode and you have the options for the indexed color (ie: forced: black and white, etc.)
You can also hit the “Transparency” checkbox and choose Forced: None. In either case you can’t save it as a jpg. Indexed color can only be saved as gif, png, or a few other less popular formats.

Thanks! I’ve checked maybe 30 different threads on Intuit’s site, and no one could answer this. Your solution worked like a charm.

Hi,
Thank you for the information but how do you change the image mode in quickbooks?
Thank you,

Hi,
Sorry, I’m a little slow in the head. I realized it was a change using Photoshop and it worked like a charm!
Thanks so much.

It’s funny that we often make assumptions we don’t even realize we are making. It’s definitely not obvious anywhere in my little post that I’m talking about doing this in photoshop. I’ll add a little line explaining that.
Thanks!
